Landscape Construction Technician
This position assists a crew of two or more team members in the construction of paver patios, retaining walls, ponds and waterfalls, low-voltage lighting, landscape bed preparation, edging, plant material, ground cover, and irrigation installation and repair.
Installing paver patios and segmental block or boulder retaining walls.
Installing garden ponds and waterfalls.
Installing low-voltage landscape and hardscape lighting.
Installing landscape beds including edging, plant material and ground cover (mulch or decorative rock).
Reads landscape design plans, reviews plans with team leader, and implements the landscape construction plan.
Operates proficiently a variety of mechanical equipment, including skid steers, mini skid steers, plate compactors, angle grinders, drills, gas and electric masonry saws.
Operates automatic and manual shift vehicles such as dump trucks and truck and trailer combinations.
Assist the team in completing necessary paper work including timesheets and organizing material reciepts.
Assist the team in planning and organizing projects.
Assist the team in maintaining a clean and safe work environment, including worksite and equipment.
Weekly cleaning of equipment and shop premises.
Attend training classes and seminars as requested.
High school degree or GED.
Must have a working knowledge of standard construction practices, basic understanding of electricity and plumbing.
Must have good oral and written communication, math, job planning and mechanical skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license or CDL, and insurable by the company’s agent.
Must be detail oriented and quality driven.
Class A or B CDL.
Landscape and hardscape construction experience.
Knowledge of landscape and hardscape materials and processes.
